Sep 6th: Where Do You Wish You Were Today

Been having a busy day in the office...and I'm off on my travels after today for a wee while and I'll miss Ailsa and Morag like mad...I don't really like being away from them...I am a bit of a homebird really...yet because things were so hectic my mind went walkabout and I thought of my mate Alan Christie...he's a bit of a Steve Irwin himself...and will be somewhere in the wilds of Canada as I write taking the tourists out and about and giving them the real Canadian Affair...that's him on the boat...came a long way fae Old Aberdeen eh...now that's how to do it...none of your Best Western Hotels in East Anglia for him...just a tent and the stars...lucky bastard....

Edward De Bono

Sep 5th: Rock On Edwardo

There's an old saying...

The mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains,
the original dimension (anon).

and in quoting Spandau Ballet, so true, funny how it seems....

Dr. Edward de Bono regarded by many as a leading international authority on creative thinking describes lateral thinking as a way of thinking which seeks changes in perceptions, concepts and ideas through the use of formal thinking tools...

Well I tried some techniques out for a work problem and it worked great...Logical vs Lateral thinking...ying and yang...it's my new rock n' roll...lovin it....

Stevo

Sep 4th: Stevo

Sad to hear about Steve Irwin's passing...Ailsa and I had many a magic time watching him on the goggle box...'look out mate it's a cobra'...which I often quoted especially when eating Indian...it's a great beer afterall...

Anyway, I don't care if you were for or against what he did...I thought he was a great character...the Michael Jacksonesq stunt with his kid wasn't impressive but he entertained a great many in other ways...

Perhaps, I'm sick but I do think he might have laughed at the above himself....

SCAT

Sep 2nd: SCAT

Ailsa's gig was part of the Scottish Cultures and Traditions (SCAT) festival at the weekend. What a great organisation. Normal people keeping on keeping on at what makes us what we are. Chilled to some harp recitals, tapped our toes to the Shetland fiddlers and enjoyed the odd Doric tune or two. Fabulous.
